In what can only be described as a win that will go down in Cardinal History, the Cards came away with one of their easiest wins against the Fighting Irish in the past Decade. A team that is usually rattled and has a hard time closing games, made it look easy this time. Jordan Nwora carried the team with a game high 24 points, making his Avg 17.3PPG look like a regular thing for him. This will be his 13th time he's scored 20 points or more in a game this season so I suppose it is. Nwora is going to be doing big things for this program if he chooses to stay.
This is Louisville's overall 20th win of the season making their Record 20-12 during Chris Mack's debut season as Louisville's Head Coach. With the performances he's provided Card Nation this season on our other Key, Signature wins, fans can't help but feel acceptance of their new coach. His prior experience with Xavier in the past 8 years was a precursor of what's to come for the Louisville Basketball program. With his Contract all but secured, we can only watch as he continues to honor this cherished tradition of wins that Louisville Basketball has come to know and love over the years. Once again, thank you Coach Mack, and welcome to The Ville!

Other key factors this game were Ryan MacMahon and his sharpshooting, hitting 3-4 from 3 point range and 3-3 from free throws. Always looking to produce as a team player, whether that is to set up plays or hit that daggers from distance. Steven Enoch continued to look impressive and handled the boards and controlled the post. We are glad to have him after he sat out the previous season after transferring from UConn. Sutton, as always, showing off his athleticism on the floor in every way possible, from rebounds to scoring to assists and steals. He's always been a contributor and I'm glad to see that hasn't changed in the slightest.
A few surprises came as well from the bench in the form of V.J. King and Darius Perry. Two players who have been somewhat lackluster, for pretty much most of the season, stepped up their game tonight by contributing to plays, making some buckets, and grabbing some rebounds. For Perry, Today was his 20th Birthday so of course he needed to try and make a point of emphasis on the game. As for V.J. King, this is the 3rd game in a row where he has shown confidence in his shots, whether they went down or not, and he wasn't afraid to get on the defensive end and hug tight making it difficult for Notre Dame to make shots up close, and from distance. He has been showing his All-American side lately, and he will only get better if this continues from here until he leaves next season.
From a strong performance during the first 17 minutes of the game, with very few turnovers, to the absolute balller performance to close out the game in style, this one was all Cards. One thing I would change would be the amount of shots attempted because it did drag down the overall field goal percentage making this game look a little rough around the edges, stat-wise. Now we just need to keep this close out momentum going into the rest of the post season. Until next time, Card Nation!
